
Solo & Ensemble

GCHFA students have the opportunity to perform in the annual Solo & Ensemble event, where individual musicians and small groups prepare and perform selected pieces for adjudication. Participants receive valuable feedback from professional judges to help them grow as performers and musicians. This event encourages musical independence, confidence, and artistic expression while celebrating the achievements of each student.

High school students who receive Superior ratings on their level 5+ events have the opportunity to participate in the State level, a high honor and great achievement.
​
It is required that students are in 6th grade and up in order to participate.

Pricing
Entry fee: $15 (GCHFA covers the cost of one entry fee per student*)

Packages: Pieces that require an accompanist give students the opportunity to practice with a professional pianist and receive feedback prior to the performance date. The following accompanist packages include a two rehearsals with a GCHFA approved accompanist and the performance:

Levels 1 - 2: $35 (10-minute rehearsals)

Levels 3 - 4: $50 (15-minute rehearsals)

Levels 5 - 7: $65 (20-minute rehearsals)

State Level: $75 (20-minute rehearsals)

Sheet Music: Each event must have one original piece of music for each performer(s) and one original for the judge. GCHFA owns several pieces of repertoire which students are welcome to use, but you may be responsible for purchasing a 2nd original.
