Required Materials

Below is a list of materials you will need to acquire before the first day of classes to make sure your child is prepared!

Beginning Band

For ease of access, some materials may include links; however, it is not required to obtain the materials from the exact website listed (for example, the stand). Many materials (besides an instrument!) may be found on Amazon.

Band

  • Instrument accessories

    • Saxophone, Clarinet: 2 extra reeds (size 1.5-2)​

    • Oboe: 2 extra reeds

    • Trumpet, French horn, Baritone/Euphonium, Tuba: valve oil*

    • Trombone: slide oil* and tiny spray bottle*

    • Percussion: Drum sticks, mallets

  • FSMA forms (for 6th grade and up - select the appropriate form on our member site based on your homeschooling status)

*Provided with GCHFA rental instrument

Instrument accessories such as reeds, drum sticks, valve oil, and slide oil can be purchased at GCHFA upon request.
