Kristy Rispens

French Horn

Kristy is originally from the Chicago suburbs and retired from the Boy Scouts of America as the Popcorn Sales Manager.  Upon moving to Florida, she returned to playing French Horn full time and is currently studying horn professionally under Robert Moore and music theory at State College of Florida.  Along with teaching privately, she performs locally with the Sarasota Pops Orchestra, Sarasota and Manatee Concert Bands, the Bradenton Symphony Orchestra and the 1st Baptist Church of Palmetto Orchestra.  She also tours annually with the Florida Worship Choir and Orchestra, the Annie Moses Band and will be performing and teaching French Horn as a member of the Global Mission Projects trip to Havana Cuba in 2024.  She is one of the founding directors of the Gulf Coast Horn Club and an active member of the International Horn Society. She believes strongly in sharing not only her love of the French Horn, but the value and impact all music has on the young and young at heart!

When not playing or practicing horn, Kristy loves to spend time in the kitchen creating, reading, and swimming.  She and her husband Dirk have 5 children and just welcomed their 7th grand baby!
