Applied Strings Classes are for students who have never played a string instrument. One of our professional instructors will teach the basics of the student’s chosen instrument in a class setting with other students close in age. Parents of children under 10 are highly encouraged to attend all class sessions to aid in their child’s comprehension and retention as well as to facilitate good practice habits at home. Students will participate in two concerts during the year. 

To participate in Applied Strings, students must be at least 7 years old and attend an instrument fitting, which includes a musical aptitude test and provides an opportunity to see and try the orchestra instruments.

Music theory will also be part of their class at no extra cost from 11:05-11:30.

The goal for this class is to be ready to move into the 11:05 am class 2nd semester to play with all of the other applied strings.
