WindStars is the newest addition to the GCHFA curriculum! Designed as a pre-band instrumental program, WindStars is dedicated to imparting essential music principles and instrumental techniques that will set the foundation for students transitioning into the Beginning Band.

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to select and study one of four Nuvo wind instruments: the jFlute, jSax, Clarineo, or jHorn. These beginner-friendly instruments are specifically designed to accommodate smaller hands and developing embouchures, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable learning experience. The curriculum covers fundamental topics such as note reading, rhythm, breath control, and posture, all of which are crucial for mastering wind instruments.

WindStars not only focuses on individual proficiency but also fosters a collaborative learning environment. Students will engage in concentrated, small group instruction as well as full ensemble playing, promoting teamwork and enhancing their listening skills. By the time they turn 10, participants will be well-prepared to confidently join the Beginning Band, armed with a solid foundation in music and a love for playing their chosen instrument. Join WindStars and embark on a musical adventure that will inspire and prepare you for future band success!

*Classes would be 3x this price without the generosity of our annual donors!

A yearly, non-refundable enrollment fee of $100 per student is due at time of registration;

this fee will increase to $125 on July 29, and to $135 on August 31.
